Reflection:

I have greatly enjoyed the last five years studying Architectural Engineering at Penn State. Throughout these years I have been challenged continually through every class culminating with this senior thesis project.

Through this project, I have had the opportunity to learn about and design elements of a real building that can not easily be taught in the classroom. The A.E. department at Penn State not only taught the basics of structural engineering but gave me the tools to find answer to the questions I had through this project and questions I will be faced with in the future.

As I begin my career in structural engineering, I am extremely grateful for my time spent at Penn State. My educational experience has been extremely positive. I look forward to applying the knowledge I have gained here and maintaining the positive reputation of a Penn State Architectural Engineer.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Tyler Jani. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
